Maroon 5 – New Album News
Maroon 5 has been working on their third album “Hands All Over” and have scheduled to release it on September 21st in the United States. Their new material will be previewed during their upcoming tour, which will start on July 31st in Saratoga. The album is produced by Mutt Lange.
"He thinks huge; he wants to reach everybody in every country. He doesn't want to dumb things down, but he wants to make things understandable and accessible," says Adam Levine about Lange. "And we don't think about things like that. I just think about how I'm feeling at any particular moment or what I want to express musically. So I think he took this music and really magnified it bigger than it ever could have been before."
Of the studio session, Adam said, "It was a really long process. Some people can go in and bang out a record in a month, and that's a totally valid process. But for some reason I want to make sure no stone goes unturned and every single possible idea is brought to the foreground. That's just how we like to do things."
Here’s the so far official track listing of “Hands All Over”:
- "How"
- "Never Gonna Leave"
- "Wasted Years"
- "Last Chance"
- "Don't Know Much About That"
- "Out of Goodbyes"
- "I Can't Lie"
- "Give a Little More"
- "Misery"
- "Stutter"
- "Hands All Over"
Lady Gaga Extends Monster Ball Tour to 2011!
Lady Gaga has announced that she will extend her Monster Ball tour next year, even though she passed out three times during her concert in New Zealand.
Her tour promoter insisted the singer was just "tired and dehydrated" Lady Gaga also explains that she would rather die than walk away from a stage "I was so jetlagged, I got in the night before and the jetlag just really caught up with me. I passed out about three times on stage that night but I got myself to the floor. I'd rather die on stage than walk off the stage because I was going to pass out."
Stars such as Ryan Tedder and Janet Jackson have mentioned their concern for Lady Gaga’s demanding schedule. "She works so hard and I told her I think she needs to slow down just a little bit, take some time out for herself." Says Janet.
The 2011 North American Monster Ball Tour is set to kick off on February 19th in Atlantic City, with arena 10 dates so far confirmed through April 18. Additional dates are expected to be announced. Semi Precious Stones, will open all 2010 and 2011 tour dates. Tickets for the 2011 shows go on sale May 14th at LiveNation.com. Additional information can be found at LadyGaga.com.
M.I.A.’s New Song “XXXO”, is that real music?
M.I.A. has released a new song titled “XXXO”, which will be released as her fist official single for her upcoming new album, later this year.
M.I.A. hasn't announced the official title for her new album, and rumors suggest that it will most likely be released in July. A music video for “XXXO” will be made before her album will hit the stores. Hype Williams will be involved in filming the video.
To me, this isn’t real music, it feels the same as K$sha’s “Bla bla bla” song, absolute nonsense. This music is way too commercial for me, what do you think?
Bono and Jarvis Cocker - Big Winners of Sony Radio Academy Awards
Bono and Jarvis Cocker were the winners at the annual Sony Radio Academy Awards hosted yesterday from London. The event honored the best of British radio talent, Jarvis picked up the ceremony’s Rising Star prize and Bono was awarded with the trophy for Best Music Special. Bono received the trophy for his one-off broadcast celebrating the music of Elvis Presley.
Jarvis Cocker recently began hosting a show on BBC 6 Music, and hopes that his win will influence BBC executives to save the station. Jarvis Cocker on the radio station: "6 Music is never going to be the biggest station in the U.K. but it would be devastating if it was to close. 6 Music isn't going to change the world - it just wants to make it a bit nicer."

Prince on Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People + Village Underground Performance
I think I was about 8 or 9 when I saw Purple Rain. I was interested in music and trying to find a model. It was Michael, or it was Prince. He had an attitude, a rawness that Michael didn't have. He was not urban, but he was our version of what cool could be. You look at an icon like James Dean or Steve McQueen — they represent a certain energy, a certain poise. That's what Prince has.
Young kids are getting into Prince now, and it's because he was ahead of his time. He's timeless. He hasn't aged a bit. My second hit, "Nice and Slow," was inspired by Prince. He's had his ups and downs, but he's used his career to change the way artists are treated. Being in his presence is surreal. His energy is just so fly. He is so poised. He is the s___. He is what he called a "Sexy M.F."
New Mary J. Blige Video – We Got Hood Love
Mary J. Blige just released her new music video for “We Got Hood Love”, a track which Trey Songz also worked on. It follows four couples who have a fight but make up at the end of the clip.
George Wilson plays Mary’s love interest in this video directed by Chris Robinson. The two filmed their scenes in Miami, and Trey shot his scene in a New York apartment.
"I just played off her. If she jumped down my throat, in my mind I'm saying, 'Say something. Come back, come back,' because all we really had to do was argue," George told the Buffalo News about his video shoot with Mary. "They had the music playing over us, so it was definitely a new arena for me. I'm used to having my jersey and helmet on."
"But to have them off and be in front of the camera and be working with an icon like Mary, I knew I had to bring my 'A' game like you have to on the field. I wanted to make it seem like I was as comfortable as possible so that when you see the video hopefully I don't look like an amateur."
"We Got Hood Love" is the latest release from Mary J. Blige’s latest album “Stronger With Each Tear”.

Tamar Kaprelian Premieres Music Video and Unveils Album Cover
Tamar Kaprelian has just premiered the official music video for her single "New Day." Watch the twenty-two year old rising star take her piano through beautiful fields and forests in the ultimate fairytale setting.
Tamar has been writing since she was just fourteen years old and hopes to send a profoundly positive message with "New Day." She says, it's "about struggling, persevering, and being in a situation where you don’t know how you’re gonna dig yourself out of it. And at the end of it, life is like a road—you don’t stop in the middle of it. I really want people to listen to this record and get a sense of hope from it.”
"New Day" will appear on Tamar's debut album, Sinner Or A Saint, due out later this summer on Interscope Records.
Katy Perry Teams up with Snoop Dogg for “California Gurls”
Katy Perry’s new single “California Gurls” which features Snoop Dogg has just been released. It’s a fun, upbeat summer song which will surely become a hit.
The track is confirmed to be included in Katy's forthcoming third still untitled studio album. It is said to have been released in answer of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ New York song “Empire State of Mind”. If that’s true, I’m not sure that this song can become the new official California song.
"It's so great that 'Empire State of Mind' is huge and that everyone has the New York song, but what the f**k? What about LA? What about California?" Katy Perry tells Rolling Stone. "It's been a minute since we had a California song and especially from a girl's perspective. We took the references of Prince, which is always a great reference, and some of the '90s, almost house music references."
Katy will perform “California Gurls” at the upcoming MuchMusic Video Awards.

Craig David Drops New Video for “All Alone Tonight”
Craig David made a very steamy video for “All Alone Tonight”, which is the second single from his latest album “Signed Sealed Delivered”.
"Signed Sealed Delivered" which was dropped in U.K. in March is basically a cover album because the only original song is the last track called "This Could Be Love". "All Alone Tonight" samples Diana Ross and Marvin Gaye’s “Stop, Look, Listen (to Your Heart)”, and other singles of the album include covers of the Motown era.
The first single was "One More Lie (Standing in the Shadows)" which sampled The Four Tops' 1967 classic "Standing in the Shadows of Love". The record is the first that David made after signing with Universal Records. He’s doing a great job with the Motown covers, and hopefully will continue in that direction.

Fanning the Flames from The Arcade Fire
While sitting in a movie theater watching trailer after trailer go by, my mindless train of thought stops around halfway through the “Where the Wild Things Are” trailer. At the time I wasn't sure why I suddenly became balled up with emotion; reflecting back, I realized it wasn't the silly looking monsters but the incredible music that drove me close to tears. Still today, whenever I hear that guitar and those drums fire up, followed by the haunting voice and poetic lyrics: “Children don’t grow up. Our bodies get bigger, but our hearts get torn up” chills shoot right through me.
This beloved song titled “Wake Up” came from the creative brilliance of Montreal based indie rock band Arcade Fire. This orchestral, indie rock group first dawned on the scene in 2003 when Win Butler spotted future wife Regine Chassagne singing jazz standards at a Montreal art exhibit. Together the duo formed a musical partnership and that soon followed with additional members including Richard Parry, Tim Kigsbury, Sarah Neufeld, Jeremy Gara and Win Butler’s younger brother William Butler. During 2003 and early 2004, the band released an EP which is now known by fans as “Us Kids Know” EP. The EP originally was sold informally at shows but has been remastered and given a full release since the band gained notoriety. The disc helped gain the attention of independent record label Merge Records which lead to a record contract for the band.
With a signed record deal and wedding vows between Butler and Chassagne, the band suddenly took a sharp turn when Chassagne’s grandmother passed away, soon followed by the Butlers’ grandfather, then Parry’s Aunt. The death of these family members puts the band through a whirlwind of somber emotions. The band chose to channel these emotional energies into their first full-length album titled “Funeral,” which debuted in September of 2004. “Funeral” received both high critical and commercial acclaim, appearing on several top ten album lists for 2004 and 2005. With rapid growing interest, Arcade Fire was soon booking tours at high-profile venues and some of the largest music festivals such as Halifax, Coachella, Sasquatch, and Lollapalooza. Montreal concerts sell out months in advance in a matter of minutes. In September of 2005, Arcade Fire performed “Wake Up” with David Bowie on the “Fashion Rocks” television event. This recording along with collaborations with Bowie’s “Life on Mars” and “Five Years” became available on itunes and stirred a great deal of attention for the band. In addition to 2005, the band opened for the Irish rock group U2 during their “Vertigo” tour and appeared on “Later” with Jools Holland, a live show on the BBC.
After an eventful year, Arcade Fire whined down in a defunct church they purchased outside of Montreal which they turned into their recording studio. Their next album titled “Neon Bible” was released in March 2007 featuring their new single “Intervention” which had been previously leaked to peer-to-peer networks on the internet. The album was released with high critical acclaim and premiered at number one on the Canadian Album Chart and the Irish Album Chart and number 2 on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 charts. This brought the band to play more than 120 shows in 75 cities and 19 countries over the course of that year as well as appearing on “Saturday Night Live.” With tours coming to an end in 2008, Win Butler became a vocal supporter for Barack Obama and played several free shows in support of his presidential candidacy. The band has since finished work on their third album which is due for release in mid-2010. The band will be playing some song form their new album in August when they headline for the Reading and Leeds Festival. Will Butler commented “We’re really looking forward to playing the new songs live…(it’s) like an inventor emerging from his basement after a year’s work."
