Janet Jackson Joins The Jackson 5 World Tour

Janet Jackson is set to go on a world tour later this year with the Jackson 5, instead of her brother Michael. Jermaine, Tito, Jackie and Marlon wanted to find a special way to pay tribute to their brother and now they’ve finally found it.

Janet will be joining us. We're all talking about it now. She has never played with us before so that will be very special. She definitely wants to do it,” Jermaine said while completing a promotional tour of Australia. “We had a conference call and Janet has agreed to join us on tour.”

Some of the sets Michael Jackson was going to use during his This Is It Tour will be shown during their tribute.

Soldier Of Love Captures #1 Album Worldwide

Sade Ellen

Heralded as one of this year's most highly anticipated albums and garnering much critical acclaim, SOLDIER OF LOVE secures the # 1 album spot worldwide today with over 501,000 copies sold taking its rightful place among the collection of iconic Sade albums. SOLDIER OF LOVE marks Sade’s second album to land at # 1 on the Billboard chart - the first was in 1986 with Promise – and is the first official album release from Sade since 2000’s multi-platinum Lovers Rock which debuted with 370,000 records sold.

Not only has America welcomed Sade back with open arms after close to ten years, but worldwide, SOLDIER OF LOVE has proven to be a smash. So far the album has seen a #1 worldwide debut in territories including Canada, France and Switzerland.

Entertainment Weekly featured SOLDIER OF LOVE in their “Must List” and gave the album an “A”, Rolling Stone wrote, “it’s unimpeachably excellent,” and The Boston Globe calls it, “a rich and rewarding album.” But the accolades don’t stop there. Associated Press raved, “like a long-ago lover not quite forgotten, Sade has returned to steal our hearts with more beautiful, uncategorizable music,” Billboard was quoted as saying, “it’s been 10 years since Sade released an album, but be forewarned – the giant has awoken,” while People Magazine reminds us that “Sade remains the voice of comfort to the wounded heart.”

The accomplishments of SOLDIER OF LOVE so far are astounding. The single, “Soldier of Love” - which Sade co-produced with Mike Pela, and was written by Sade along with longtime collaborators Andrew Hale, Stuart Matthewman and Paul Spencer Denman continues to make radio history. In less than four weeks “Soldier of Love” propelled into the top five at both Urban Hot AC and Smooth Jazz radio charts, making it one of the fastest moving records of the year. The track has held the #1 spot at Urban Hot AC radio for four weeks straight and topped the Smooth Jazz chart for 2 weeks. Sade is now the first group since the Isley Brothers in 2001 to earn a #1 spot as a lead act on the R&B Chart. The intriguing and seductive video, which Sophie Muller directed is currently the # 1 most played video this month.

Sade kicked off a phenomenal TV campaign last week with appearances on BET’s 106 & Park, The Today Show, Letterman, and The View. Performances on both Jimmy Kimmel and Ellen Degeneres air this week.

New Black Eyed Peas Video – Imma Be Rocking That Body

Black Eyed Peas Imma Be Rock That Body

The Black Eyed Peas's new video for “Imma Be Rocking That Body” is the X-Men meets The Transformers! It’s very futuristic and truly looks like an action hero mini movie.

Will i.am tells Fergie apl.de. ap and Taboo: "This is what's gonna take the Peas into 3008." Then Fergie takes off and seems to find herself in the year 3008! I can see why they’ve chosen to make their video like this, there are so many movies doing the same while being successful at it. Action heroes are totally in right now, just like Aliens were in the 90’s.

The video directed by Rich Lee, was partially shot in the desert of Lancaster, California.

Shakira Shoots Video For Gypsy

Shakira Gypsy
Shakira and Rafael Nadal are getting close in the teaser for “Gypsy” or “Gitana” in Spanish. Videos for the song are being done in both English and Spanish. Both clips show similar scenes with the singer seen lying next to the tennis player before then drawing her body closer to his.

"Gypsy" is taken from Shakira’s latest album “She Wolf”, which was released last October. The videos will both premiere on February 26th and were directed by Jaume de Laiguana.

Here’s a little gossip, Shakira was reported to have dated Rafael Nadal after they were spotted going out several times in Spain.  Her rep however says:

"We were all there, and Shakira only came when we'd finished the main course to have something to drink, accompanied by her manager, Ceci Kurzman, and Jaume. It was a dinner organized with the director to brief Rafa on what was expected from him in the video."

Too bad, they look sweet together, in any case Shakira will surely grace us once again with a beautiful video this February.

Rihanna’s Rude Boy Video

Rihanna Rude Boy

Sex definitely sells, especially for Rihanna. In her suggestive new video “Rude Boy”, she’s seen ridding several animals, and grinding on a “love interest” while singing "Come here rude boy, boy, is you big enough?"

Well Rihanna is certainly satisfied with the outcome:

“[The video] completely different from any other video I’ve shot before,” Rihanna has said. “A lot of my videos are really dark and edgy and tough. ‘Rude Boy’ is more playing along the lines from my roots… We used a lot of color, but also the costumes were very Jamaican dance-hall queen type.”

The Andy Warhol like video was directed by Melina Matsoukas, who also directed Rihanna’s video for “Hard”.

What do you say is Rihanna’s new video fab or a miss?
