Solange - Promotes Safe Sex Campaign

Solange has signed on with MTV’s Staying Alive campaign to raise awareness of the importance of safe sex among teens. Solange might not have been an obvious choice, because she was pregnant herself when she was 17. However, her experience does make her the perfect spokesperson. She attended the "Yes to Safe Sex" awareness event today in NYC to kick off the campaign.

This is what Solange had to sign about her decision to join the cause on her Twitter page:

Today I have decided to dedicate myself to MTV’s “Staying Alive” campaign. Yes, Yes, Yes to safe sex to prevent HIV and AIDS. Eminem - To Perform at the MTV Movie Awards

Eminem will make his long-awaited return to the stage with a live performance at this year’s MTV Movie Awards the network confirmed on Monday.

There is no clue on what song the Eminem will be delivering at the annual event. Words are, he is expected to sing "We Made You" off upcoming sixth studio album "Relapse" (release date: May 19th). As for other musical guests, announcement will be made in the coming weeks.

The 18th Annual MTV Movie Awards, hosted by SNL’s Andy Samberg, will air on Sunday, May 31 at 9 p.m. on MTV.

For the first time, MTV is letting fans participate in the nominee process. Beginning Monday, April 13th, voting will be opened and viewers will be able to select the nominees for the awards from an eligibility list of over 200 movies, which include "Hannah Montana: The Movie" among Best Movie pre-nominees. Fans can log on to movieawards.mtv.com before April 20 to vote for the nominees.

The nominees of 2009 MTV Movie Awards will officially be announced on May 4th. Voting to determine the winners from each category will run off on May 18, with the exception of Best Movie which will remain open through the show.

A new picture of Black Eyed Peas has been released. While their official website claims that the snap is a promo picture for their upcoming fifth studio album "The E.N.D.", reports in the media suggest that the photo will actually serve as the cover art of the new album.

"The Energy Never Dies", "The E.N.D." is scheduled to be released in U.S. on June 9th. The first single off the forthcoming set is called "Boom Boom Pow" and recently peaked at number 1 on Billboard Hot 100. A music video for the song will be premiered sometime soon and feature Black Eyed Peas born into "digital afterlife."

Mariah Carey - Special eBay Auction For Society of Singers

Mariah Carey is participating in an auction to benefit the Society of Singers, which benefits the health and welfare of professional singers worldwide with emergency financial assistance. They also raise money for Masters level students who are pursuing their education in the vocal arts at accredited universities and music schools across the US.

The auction closes on April 18th on the UniversalMusicStore.com. It includes a box of signed Mariah Carey Luscious Pink perfume, a signed Emancipation of Mimi CD, and a signed Adventures of Mimi DVD set.

Additional autographed Mariah Carey merchandise will be listed next week.

Lenny Kravitz and Carla Bruni know each other from "back in the day", and with such a compliment there's no way he could have refused to collaborate with her.

Kanye West teamed up with Young Jeezy to create "Amazing". It is the third single taken from his fourth album "808's & Heartbreak". It is still unknown when the video will be released.

The Black Eyed Peas set the mark for best single-week and debut download totals by a group as "Boom Boom Pow" shifts 465,000 in its first week of release. New Eminem Video - "We Made You"

After being absent from the music bis for about 4 years, Eminem is back with a new video titled “We Made You..” The song was produced by Dr. Dre and features a cameo of 50 Cent.

The video features caricatures of Winehouse and Spears, as well as Blake Fielder-Civil, Lindsay Lohan, Samantha Ronson, Jessica Simpson and Sarah Palin while the lyrics also address the stars.

The song will feature on Eminem's upcoming album, "Relapse", which is due to be released on May 19th.

Bon Jovi Documentary

Bon Jovi's documentary, "Bon Jovi: When We Were Beautiful", which is described as a work-in-progress documentary will be the main focus of the upcoming Tribeca Film Festival (Apr. 22 - May. 3).

The movie will screen as the fest's centerpiece presentation on April 29, with another pair of screenings scheduled over the following three days. The documentary celebrates 25 years of the band's impressive career. Besides the music, it also focuses on the relationships between all band members of the past decade. This will be featured in interviews.

Director Griffin has more scoop: “Throughout the process of working with Bon Jovi, I was amazed at the candor and humility Jon and his band showed me. The result is not a neatly wrapped up bundle of staged interviews and musical interludes, but rather a series of open and sometimes difficult conversations, explored against a backdrop of music spanning 25 years. Ciara's "Fantasy Ride" will drop May 5th. The original cover of the album has been revised due to negative reviews. The deluxe cover has also surfaced. "Fantasy Ride" features production by Ciara Harris, Christopher “Tricky” Stewart, The-Dream, Danja, Jasper Cameron, Polow da Don, Ne-Yo, Justin Timberlake, The Y’s. It also features Ludacris, Chris Brown, Young Jeezy, The-Dream, Missy Elliot and Justin Timberlake.

Kanye features in Beyonce's remix of "Ego". He basically starts off the song for about a minute and a half, then Beyonce basically continues and finishes the song. The remix is quite weak, it didn't need Kanye's addition, however that's just my opinion. Click on the video below and judge for yourselves.
