Prince on The Tonight Show!
Prince was the musical guest on Jay Leno's Tonight Show last night! He performed a new song called "Turn Me Loose" (view lyrics below). Overall, I loved the song and performance, it was funky, the arrangement was great, and I felt so energized after hearing it! It's great to hear such a sexy new song from Prince!
Accompanying the band was Ledisi and members of Grupo Fantasma along with the return of Renato Neto. Prince did a few station i.d.’s with Jay and Jay called him the Pop Idol, which Prince rather liked.
After the station i.d.’s, “The P.I.” came out and did two more songs for the lucky fans and guests who were able to attend. He did “Guitar” and “1999″ as Leno crew came from behind the scenes to watch Prince own it. We were told by a Tonight Show insider that it’s been since the Johnny Carson days of the Tonight Show since there was that much excitement for a musical performer.
Prince ended the show saying “See You At Coachella”.

I LOVED Prince's performance. I thought it was energetic, fun, and funky. I've seen posts on other websites that say it was boring, the same old thing, or dull. I can not say how much that burns my butt! I've had the pleasure and the honor of seeing him perform live and I've NEVER been disappointed. Last night was no exception. Of course if it were longer that would have been excellent, hell if he'd been the whole show I would have died happy. Well I did like Hugh Laurie, but Prince rules.

I completely agree with you, I had the pleasure to see him live myself last year and it was really magical, it was the best performance I've ever seen, and hope it won't be the last! He is so unique! Are you by any chance going to Coachella?
